Although similar in function to the Dual UTP HDMI+IR Extender from the Basic Series, this model adds further functionality for more demanding applications which include support for use with FTP cables, 1080p resolutions at 50m, more robust signal thanks to a more aggressive noise rejection circuitry which is especially useful for commercial and industrial environments where EMI is a concern.These extenders come in a pair; one Source Unit which connects to a HDMI output from a source device (BD players, HD set-top boxes, HDMI splitters, etc.) and an accompanying Remote Unit, which connects to a HDMI-enabled display. They provide an uncompressed, HDMI cable equivalent signal link over two UTP cables which can be up to 50m long. For added convenience, an IR backlink feature is also built into the extender, which allows for control of the source device with the devices original remote controller.
