These extenders come in a pair; one Source Unit which connects to a HDMI output from a source device (BD players, HD set-top boxes, HDMI splitters, etc.) and an accompanying Remote Unit, which connects to a HDMI-enabled display. They provide an uncompressed, HDMI cable equivalent signal link over two UTP cables which can be up to 50m long. For added convenience, an IR backlink feature is also built into the extender, which allows for control of the source device with the devices original remote controller.
